Insurers are under the spotlight. Parliament’s Treasury select committee has asked consumers to get in touch with their insurance questions and problems. In a hearing on Wednesday it will put these to insurance bosses.
The committee’s chair, the Conservative MP Harriett Baldwin, said: “We have heard anecdotal evidence in recent months of premiums rising faster than inflation, insurers refusing to pay out, and difficulties in making claims. We would like to hear from consumers on their experiences of the insurance industry since the pandemic.”
