Reggie Bennett, 29, was driving a Peugeot 208 on Mill Street in Frizington when the offence took place on January 16.
A blood sample showed the defendant had 3.4mcg of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood. The limit to drive is 2mcg.

Bennett pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the limit, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third party insurance.
Magistrates sitting in Workington imposed a 22-month driving ban.
Bennett of Mill Street, Frizington, was fined £140. He must also pay £85 costs and a £56 surcharge.
